We are honored to welcome Holger Preuß as a fourth keynote speaker at the 4th International Scientific Conference 4HAS.

Expert in sports economics, mega-events, and global sport policy

Prof. Preuß is Professor of Sports Economics and Sociology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and one of the world’s leading experts in the economic and societal impact of sport.

His research focuses on the global dimensions of sport, including:

✅ Economic and socio-economic impact of sport
✅ Analysis and legacy of mega sporting events
✅ Strategic management of sport organizations
✅ Governance, integrity, and sustainability in sport
✅ Soft power and international influence through sport

He is internationally recognized for his extensive work on the Olympic Games and other major events, analysing their long-term impact on cities, economies, and societies. His research spans decades of Olympic history and includes recent contributions to the evaluation of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, where he served as President of the supervising committee for impact assessment.

His work provides critical frameworks for understanding how major events create lasting value — far beyond competition itself.

Academic excellence and global influence

With over 15 books and more than 150 scientific publications, Prof. Preuß has made a significant contribution to sport management research worldwide. He has also delivered more than 140 invited lectures globally and served as editor of the renowned journal European Sport Management Quarterly.

In addition to his academic work, he actively contributes to international sport governance through roles in organizations such as:
